She and her father were drawn to the traditional handicrafts made in small workshops and wanted to bring them to Europe while supporting the makers. Together with Shanti and Nirjala, who started a felt production in 2004, Gamcha designs products for the European market. Today, more than 125 women are employed with fair pay and treatment, giving them an independent income that is rare for women in Nepal.
